Captain Falcon may not be the first name that comes to mind when thinking of video game bounty hunters, but you'd be surprised how solid the Falcon is at his job. Sure you don't see him taking heads left and right, but he's not one to trifle with when it comes to a fight. He's also a hero in his world -- which is Nintendo's version of cyber punk -- and is maybe one of the few people who can pull off that style. Not to mention his preferred mode of transport. Sure, Roach is a great horse, but we'd have a hard time believing it could beat the Blue Falcon.

Whether we're talking 2010's Red Dead Redemption or its smash-hit sequel released in 2018, there's just no version of John Marston that can compete with Geralt. If we're talking the second, where he's much younger and less experienced, then there'd be no competition. But we do have the first game -- where we play as a much more mature and seasoned Marston who will always have a special place in the hearts of fans. It's close as to which one we'd take in a pinch, but we're going , because cowboys can't compete with monster hunters.

Arthur Morgan is in a class of his own when it comes to bounty hunting. Sure, Geralt has coin on his mind a lot, especially when he's haggling poor decrepit farmers down to their last penny, but he's got nothing on Arthur Morgan. This man is willing to help anyone and everyone he knows or meets as long as he gets fat stacks of cash by the end of it. Whether it's robbing trains, roughing up deadbeats who owe him money, or collecting cigarette cards like a true nerd.

Silas Greaves is your typical 1800's western archetype -- shoot first and ask questions later -- a perfect fit for the running and gunning you do in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. His one moment of restraint is when he forgives an adolescent Dwight D. Eisenhower for murdering his brother, thus sending him on a path to become the 34th President of the United States. But that's Greaves's problem, the rest of the game he's blinded with rage, making him no match for the stoic Geralt.

Samus is as classic a bounty hunter as you'll get in gaming. She gets a job, hops in her space ship and takes care of it, easy peasy. Along the way she does encounter giant mecha-dragons, evil clones, and worst of all, puzzles! But that never stops our girl. We rarely get to witness Samus handle the business side of things, but we do get to see how efficient she is on the job. Geralt has taken on some pretty substantial monsters, but he's a bit far off from what Samus has to encounter on a regular day.

He might not be the your typical tough, but Mann The Bounty Hunter from Pirates 101, a non-playable character that you encounter during your journey, still fits the bill. Mann's time in the game is rather brief, but through that you understand that he's an aged professional who's teaching the new kid, you, some tricks out of his playbook. He feels like the old guy who comments on the glory days and doesn't see any action anymore.

Django was a sizable let down in the prequels, being essentially reduced to an act of fan service, only to have his head cut off by Samuel Jackson. But we must say, he's pretty good in his game, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. It's a Star Wars game that went really under the radar, but in it you see Django fleshed out a lot more and understand why he's one of the best at his job.

Sure, Mattias Nilsson is from a franchise called Mercenaries, but seeing as he takes a great deal of pleasure in blowing things up and assassinating people for money, we think he deserves a spot on this list. Nilsson's accomplishments range from being an officer in the Swedish Navy at 17 to killing 52 of North Korea's "most wanted" -- and doing all this while rocking one sweet beard. There's no denying that Nilsson is one of the best in the game and can give Geralt a serious run for his money. His only drawback being that he's terribly reckless, even acquiring a nuke in the second game to destroy one of his enemies.

And our protagonist, Stranger, is one of the most classic renditions of a bounty hunter in gaming. He's a bit cliché being a no-nonsense cowboy, but has an incredibly unique design while offering up his own distinct qualities. And like most no-nonsense cowboy bounty hunters, he loves his line of work -- we're thankful this is getting an !
