PRESENTED BY COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 1 Maryland men’s soccer team defeated American, 2-1, Tuesday night at Ludwig Field to stay unbeaten in 2016. Sophomores Amar Sejdic and Gordon Wildscored for Maryland (12-0-2, 6-0-1 B1G) which moved its winning streak to nine games with Tuesday’s victory. The Terps have not lost since falling to Ohio State in Columbus on Oct. 31, 2015 – a stretch of 19-straight matches. Sejdic kicked off the scoring with an absolute blast from 20 yards after a give-and-go from Jake Rozhansky in the 27th minute for a 1-0 lead. It was the sophomore’s sixth goal this season. Wild put the Terps on top with his fifth game-winner of the year in the 70th minute off a left-footed rocket from on top of the 18 to the far post. Maryland volleyball upsets No 9 Purdue with 3-0 road sweep
Maryland got a historic victory with a 3-0 sweep of the No. 9 ranked Purdue Boilermakers on the road. It was the first top-10 road victory for the Terps since joining the Big Ten in 2014 and the first time the program ever swept three consecutive Big Ten matches.
