Ranking Every Possible Member Of Captain America s Pokémon Team

Captain America would make an amazing Pokemon trainer, obviously. What kind of team would this patriotic symbol of hope assemble? Find out! Captain America may have entered retirement in the , but it doesn't mean he couldn't find a second life elsewhere. The leader of the Avengers and the man out of time would make an excellent trainer and would likely be a symbol of hope in whatever region he decided to call home. He would likely become a gym leader after his days of thwarting Team Rocket's dastardly plans. Let's now look at and rank every possible member of Captain America's pokémon team. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Lucario

From an emotional and strategic level, Lucario is a perfect fit for Captain America. Not only does it understand human speech, but it can sense and identify the auras of others. This would not only help Cap in search and rescue missions but could also be used in stealth operations. Cap is sometimes a part of the Secret Avengers and defeats evil from the shadows and Lucario could be a key part of their success. It's fighting/steel dual-typing also make it as resilient and unwavering as Cap himself.

Donphan

Everyone remembers that part at the beginning of where the trainer uses his Donphan in such an impressive way that he almost defeats Ash Ketchum. The pokémon itself has never really been a fan favorite, but that scene in that movie alone likely made many kids curious about Donphan's potential. Unlike many other creatures on this list, Donphan isn't a clear and obvious choice, but the fact that it's determined means that it relates to Captain America on some level.

Luxray

If we're being honest, the only reason Luxray made the cut is due to it sporting a star-like shape on its tail. It also gives type variety to the list as it is a shockingly effective electric-type. Since Captain America is a symbol of the USA, and Americans love dogs as pets, pairing the superhero with canines is a no-brainer decision. The truth of the matter, though, is that there's another canine-inspired pokémon that makes more sense at the Captain;s side, but we'll get to that later.

Mamoswine

In 2019 most people are familiar with Captain America's origin story where he was frozen alive inside a giant glacier only to be thawed out decades later. This means that Captain America is an older superhero who has a strong relation to the elements of the cold. Mamoswine is a giant mammoth-like pokémon that also happens to have a strong relationship with ice and the cold as well as feeling out of time. Imagine seeing the likes of Captain America riding into battle against Thanos on the back of a Mamoswine.

Salamence

Putting together a list of pokémon that belong on Captain America's team, you wouldn't necessarily start with dragons. However, after combing over the entire PokéDex it's hard not to see Salamence as a possible member of Steve Rogers's team. The giant dragon/ not only sports the right color scheme for Cap's team, but it also doubles as his form of transportation considering he's one of the few Avengers that can't fly, teleport, leap, or float.

Sirfetch d

Captain America can be quite proud and regal at times and is often one of the only Avengers that has real respect for tradition. As the newest pokémon on this list Sirfetch d is likely a creature many aren't familiar with, but as its name suggests it's the final evolutionary form of Farfetch'd that fans have been clamoring for. The evolved form sports a long reed sword and stands its ground in a very formal way. It may technically feel more similar to the British Royal Guards, but that doesn't mean Captain America wouldn't appreciate its company.

Feraligatr

On the surface, it may seem like Feraligatr is way too aggressive to pair with Captain America, but there is an argument to be made here. Feraligatr invokes a lot of dinosaur and ancient reptilian energy which makes it feel like a creature from the past brought forward to the present. This, of course, is similar to the "man out of time" situation Captain America has been defined by. The two start with a lot of common ground. Feraligatr also happens to sports the perfect colors to match the Captain's costume.

Crawdaunt

If this list was made primarily with the idea of choosing the most aesthetically similar pokémon then Crawdaunt would likely be even higher. The water/ lobster happens to sport a large star on its head and blue stripes on its chest as if it was molded from Captain America's shield. Steve Rogers seems like the type of guy who wouldn't stick to a single type of pokémon and would be open to any newcomer. Crawdaunt may not be the obvious choice, but it's hard to say it isn't the right one.

Braviary

In many ways, Captain America exists as a symbol of the great things America stands for. He is meant to be the glimmer of hope that people should look towards when the country isn't functioning the way it should. There isn't any creature more American than the bald eagle. The closest beast to that in Pokémon is Braviary. On top of being the symbol of the country Captain America represents, it also happens to sport the same colors. It's as if this pairing was destiny.

Arcanine

Arcanine is not only one of the most majestic creatures in the world of Pokémon, but it's often associated with the armed forces and/or the police. These creatures are extremely loyal and simply want to help their trainers in any way they can. When thinking about which pokémon make the most sense running alongside, it's hard not to see Arcanine as the best and most obvious choice. Steve Rogers caring for a Growlithe that eventually becomes an Arcanine is the fan art the world needs.
