Makhachev broke the hearts of Charles Oliveira fans at UFC 280 this past weekend, making the Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert tap out. The Dagestani star dominated from the beginning and was in control both on the feet and on the mat. The 31-year-old captured the lightweight title and earned a Performance of the Night bonus for his second-round arm-triangle choke victory over 'Do Bronx'. During Makhachev's celebrations, featherweight champ Volkanovski was welcomed to the cage and it was confirmed that he will step up in weight to challenge Makhachev for his first title defense. Following Islam Makhachev's victory, Conor McGregor took to Twitter to diminish his accomplishments. 'The Notorious' then revealed he had a fighting style to defeat Makhachev in a series of deleted tweets. Conor McGregor confirms he s going to be back in the octagon once filming for his movie is finished

Conor McGregor has given his clearest indication yet that he to the UFC following a post on social media. The MMA superstar is currently filming for the Hollywood remake of '80s action movie Road House. 'The Notorious' has been away from the octagon since suffering a broken leg in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier last year. Now, the 34-year-old has all but confirmed that once filming has wrapped, he's intent on returning to the the UFC with eyes on another run at the title: "I'm feeling crazy confident. Calm. Disattached from emotion. Aware of what I must do and making it happen. Visualizing. I see it all. Clear. This movie wraps, I'm back.
