Details about Ayame’s past have not been revealed, other than that she helps her father out at his restaurant. During ’s pregnancy, a young Ayame was seen hugging her, which means that she had some kind of friendly relationship with Naruto’s famous parents.
Before the commencement of the Third Stage of Chūnin exams, Ayame served Naruto an expensive bowl of ramen for free, thanking him for being their favorite customer.
Ayame was once kidnapped by Hakkaku, a Cooking-nin from the Land of Lightning. He only promised to return her to in exchange for an exclusive recipe. When Ayame was rescued, she had grown fat due to being unable to resist the food made by various Cooking Ninjas. To bring herself back to her usual self, she eats Teuchi’s diet ramen that appears to be designed to make all people (especially women) lose weight from eating it.
After Naruto returns to from his three years of training, Ayame serves him his favorite Ramen, to which Naruto expresses his joy, stating that he had missed Ichiraku Ramen the most in the past three years.
Ayame leaves the Ichiraku Ramen for some time to train and learn about various cuisines around the world. During her absence, two rather less competent male cooks Nishi and Matsu took her place. After returning from her training, Ayame turns the Ramen bar into a Tsukemen bar. Naruto, exhausted from his nature manipulation training, arrives at the bar expecting ramen but is instead served Ayame’s Tsukemen.
After much bickering between her and Naruto, he ultimately combines the two dishes to make ramen, much to Ayame’s outrage. However, as he ate several dishes in the same manner, amounting to a larger bill, Ayame accepted it grudgingly.
When the Infinite Tsukuyomi was cast, Ayame along with everyone around Konoha was captured by the God’s Tree roots, only to be later freed by it when the was undone by and Naruto. Ayame was also seen during Naruto and ’s wedding along with her father.
Ayame can be seen greeting Naruto and his son into the modernized Ichiraku Ramen before serving them.
Every year, Ayame collaborated in organizing Konoha’s annual eating contest with the proprietors of Lightning Burger, Yakiniku Q and Ankorod, alternating the responsibilities of selecting a winner. This year’s competition was held on Parent and Child Day, so Ayame joined the proprietors of Lightning Burger and Yakiniku Q in putting pressure on the proprietor of Ankorod, who was to present the prize, to make the competition’s winner an unusually attractive offer. The proprietor of Ankorod reluctantly agreed.
Ayame is described as being a very kind hearted, quiet, and cheerful young woman. She and her father seem to be some of the few Konoha villagers that do not see Naruto in a hostile manner and always consider him their favorite regular customer. She is a hard working woman, always doing her best to serve Naruto with some ramen. She was shown to have a crush on , after seeing his face as he eats hard-workingramen and is shown to be very much infatuated by him.
She also likes to switch certain things up, as she doesn’t want the restaurant to serve just one dish. An example is when she served Naruto dipping noodles and when she prepared a women’s diet ramen to help young and older women lose weight.
Ayame is a slim girl with long, dark brown hair and brown eyes. She has fair skin and her thick eyebrows are also brown. She wears white robes with sleeves folded, a sort of dark blue apron with ribbon ties at the top, and a bright white bandanna on top of her head.
